Our popular autumn conference is now the Heritage Railway Associations’s principal annual management conference event.
A variety of speakers are being confirmed offering an engaging range of important and informative topics on the ever-increasing challenges facing us, including the realities of the current economic situation, facing-up to safety stats, managing heritage structures, mental health, communications and Railway 200 … Plus the ORR will be present on both days and covering the importance of our relationship as well as broader regulatory issues.
Running over two consecutive days, this conference will be relevant to managers, senior staff, trustees and directors of heritage railways, tramways and all HRA members. The programme is subject to amendment as circumstances in finalising speakers and topics may dictate, but topics being planned are as shown below.

Both days present an excellent opportunity for meeting, networking and sharing information and ideas with colleagues from other HRA Members.
For those staying overnight on Monday and/or Tuesday there will be plenty of opportunity to network in the hotel bar or at a nearby pub during the evenings.

Holiday Inn Hotel Room Reservations & Parking
The Holiday Inn Hotel, which adjoins the BCEC, have offered a limited number of rooms on a confirmed rate for event attendees at £115 for single occupancy in a double room with breakfast (£125 for double occupancy in a double/twin). If you wish to reserve any rooms, please email Amy by 10am on 30 September: email@example.com confirming which nights (i.e. the 31 October and/or 1 November), how many rooms and the number of people in each room. You will then be provided with a booking code and the contact details to make the reservation direct with the hotel. The cancellation terms on these agreed rates are 7 days prior to arrival.
The hotel is conveniently located a 2 minute walk from the Station Street exit of Birmingham New Street Station, but for those that require parking, there is a car park behind hotel, the NCP New Street, which is £25 for 24 hours. Validation of tickets and payment for parking must be made at hotel reception to receive the discount.
