Friday 7th September



Coach meets passenger arriving by sea at the Isle of Man Sea Terminal to Douglas Sea Front for    Hotels



Coach leaves Sea Front for IoM Steam Railway where there will be a hot buffet
Coach return to Sea Front for hotels

Saturday 8th September


Coach leaves Douglas Sea Front to IoM Steam Railway Workshop for guided tour
Steam Train leaves Douglas for Port Erin.

There will be 60 minutes to look around Port Erin town or Museum





Return from Port Erin to Douglas on the Steam Dining Train. The on-board lunch will be Pie and Mash with a choice of 5 different pies.
The Stables for the Horse trams and the Tram sheds will be open for those who would like to look round them in the afternoon. 

There will be a cavalcade of the Horse Trams in the afternoon.





Coach from Sea Front to Manx Electric Railway Derby Castle Station
Travel on MER Tram to Laxey
Board Snaefell Mountain Railway for tram journey to Snaefell summit

Evening Meal at the Summit - Menu shown below 

Return by SMR Tram Summit to Bungalow where the coach will be waiting at 2140 to return everyone to Sea Front 

Sunday 9th September


Manx Electric Railway Tram to Laxey

Lunch at Mines Tavern

The afternoon is free time and there is a choice of either:

·      a visit to Groudle Glen, or;

·      Travelling on the tram to Ramsey and then a bus tour of closed lines

Some useful tips for your stay on the Isle of Man:


If travelling from Airport make sure you say hello to the fairies when passing over the Fairy Bridge.

On the Isle of Man, longtail is a euphemism used to denote a rat, as a relatively modern superstition has arisen that it is considered bad luck to mention this word.

The cash machines at the seaport or airport dispense English Currency, whilst other may not - you can use English notes on the Isle of Man but you cannot use Manx currency in Britain.

There are ferries from both Liverpool and Heysham

The times are as follows

To Douglas –  All week 11.15 & 19.15 from Liverpool

                       All week  02.15 & 14.15 from Heysham.

From Douglas – Monday 7.30 & 15.00 to Liverpool

                            Tuesday 15.00 to Liverpool

                            Monday & all week 8.45 & 19.45 to Heysham

Foot passengers £19 each way.

Many airports have flights to the Isle of Man, however they are not all on Fridays or Mondays.
