The Heritage Railway Association exists to serve its members. We’re here to help your organisation navigate the challenging issues that face heritage rail today. Whether it’s the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, securing long-term supplies of coal, or dealing with the day-to-day issues of running a heritage visitor attraction, the HRA is here to offer help and advice.

Our Commercial Partners, Trade Associates and Friends of the HRA initiatives help us to meet our aims and ambitions in supporting our work for members.

We’re at the forefront of improving standards across the sector. We’ve got a strong relationship with the industry regulators and provide our members with a whole host of technical guidance, information and insights. We are the catalyst for ensuring that skills, expertise and knowledge are shared across the industry. We encourage collaboration and by harnessing expertise from across our members we help put heritage railways on the front foot when navigating the ever-changing legal, legislative, environmental, cultural and business landscapes.

The HRA firmly backs and speaks-up for our sector and we’re working harder than ever to ensure that key regional, national and international stakeholders understand the positive impact that the heritage railway sector has on our culture, society and economy.
