Friends of the HRA
Individuals can be a part of the Heritage Railway Association too, with out Friends of the HRA scheme.
Although the Heritage Railway Association is primarily a trade association of heritage and tourist railways and railway preservation groups, individuals who have a general interest in railway preservation can join as a Friend for just a small annual subscription.
Benefits of joining the Friends of the HRA:
- The opportunity to purchase an Privilege card. Privilege gives free or discounted travel on over 100 participating railways, and free or discounted entry into many steam centres and museums that are members of the HRA. (Gala and Special Event Days including Santa Specials are not normally included, and other restrictions may apply). Privilege cards are currently priced at £120 for a one-person card, which runs for 12 months from March 1.
- Receive every issue of HRA News, our in-house magazine. HRA News will be sent direct to you, in electronic format, and is published about 4 times a year.
- The opportunity to attend conferences and seminars organised by the HRA. (Please note that Friends of the HRA do not hold voting rights at General Meetings)
Of course - we would also love you to volunteer to assist the Association in its work helping our Members. If you have specialist skills, you may be able to share this expertise as an Adviser, but there are many tasks that an active organisation like ours needs willing people to become involved with.
Prices for 2023 are £21.60 for standard Friends of the HRA subscription, and £141.60 for subscription with a Privilege pass.
The subscription year runs from January until the end of December 2023.
