The HRA Railway of the Year
The HRA Railway of the Year
Entry criteria:
Awarded to an HRA member railway, tramway or funicular railway organisation that has achieved and consistently demonstrate excellence in preservation, restoration, engineering, operations, equality, teamwork, business, safety performance, and visitor experience.
Our judging panel want to know how you ensure that visitors have a great day out from the moment they arrive on your site. They want to see details of how you look after your volunteers and staff, develop your people and teams. They’re keen to really understand how you make your business sustainable and deliver great results for your heritage at the same time.
Remember, this award is aimed at the quality of the entire organisation – a winner will have spotless toilets, great governance practices and a warm welcome for everyone regardless of their background alongside gleaming locomotives and rolling stock.
TOP TIP: It's normally easier to work on your draft submission in a text document then paste it into the submission form when you're ready. Be clear and concise, use bullet points if neccessary.
The process:
Entering the HRA Annual Awards is easy.
Simply fill in and submit the easy to complete online nomination form below. You’ll need to include four high-quality images to support your submission. These should be in jpg format and be between 1mb and 5mb in size each.
Our judging team will be in touch later this year to let you know if you’ve been shortlisted.
TOP TIP: Remember the judges might not know your railway or project, explain exactly what you mean.
Please note that any information or images provided in your submission may be published by the Heritage Railway Association in connection with the awards and their publicity.
