Enter the HRA Annual Awards 2026

Railways, tramways, rolling stock groups and preservationists up and down the UK are invited to enter the biggest awards in heritage rail.

The closing date for entries is 5pm on Monday, 3 November 2025 - don't miss out.

With 12 award categories recognising excellence and innovation in almost every aspect of heritage railway and tramway restoration, preservation and operation, recent winners have ranged from Bluebell Railway-based 'Atlantic' new-build project Beachy Head  to the Downpatrick and County Down Railway's recovery from flooding … plus there’s been gongs for the Volks Electric Railway, restoration of 1960s coal wagons, railcar restoration on the Isle of Wight Steam Railway, engineering innovation at Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff Railway, and digital marketing at the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway.

This year we launch the new 'Event of the Year' category to celebrate the best family weekends, festivals, galas and anniversaries. The top ‘Railway of the Year’ title is back alongside other well-known categories like the 'Award for Rolling Stock Preservation' and the 'Lord Faulkner Young Volunteers Award.'

Winners will be announced at the 2026 HRA Awards Evening in Llandudno on Saturday, 7 March with guest speakers, networking opportunities and a gala dinner, with drinks reception.
