Enter the HRA Annual Awards
Railways, tramways, rolling stock groups and preservationists up and down the UK are invited to enter the biggest awards in heritage rail.
Entries are now open.
With 13 award categories recognising excellence and innovation in almost every aspect of heritage railway and tramway restoration, preservation and operation, recent winners have ranged from Watercress Line-based 'Merchant Navy' Canadian Pacific and the Cambrian Heritage Railways station at Oswestry … plus there’s been gongs for the Tanfield Railway, the restoration of 1960s coal wagons, 'Collection X' at the Vale of Rheidol Railway and '03' diesel shunter Clive.
This year we launch the new 'Lifetime Achievement' category, which recognises long-standing contributions to heritage rail from people who have made a significant and sustained impact upon their organisation or the sector as a whole.
The top ‘Railway of the Year’ title is back alongside other well-known categories like the 'Award for Rolling Stock Preservation' and the 'Lord Faulkner Young Volunteers Award.'
Winners will be announced at the 2027 HRA Annual Awards Evening in Gateshead on Saturday, 6 March with entertainment, networking opportunities, a gala dinner, and drinks reception.
